Are you in crisis?

If you are feeling desperately in need of help, and perhaps want to harm yourself or someone else, then counselling is not the right thing for you at the moment. You can find help by contacting the Samaritans (UK) 116 123-calls are free, or, if outside the UK, go to the website to find a helpline for your country.

Other sources of help are:

  • Your local A&E department- call or visit, and tell the staff team that you are thinking about suicide, or about a person who is thinking about suicide
  • Papyrus- a national confidential helpline for anyone under 35 at risk of suicide. Helpline open Mon-Fri 10am-5pm and 7pm-10pm, and 2pm-5pm weekends. Tel:0800 068 41 41, text 07786 209697
  • There is an app for Smartphones “Stay Alive” which has information about other ways to find help.
